AVIVIT ZVEDA
ACCENT AND DICTION COACH
As a native English speaker with a certified TESOL/TEFL teaching certificate, Avivit has been teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) to students for almost a decade, in all fields including business people, singers, stage artists, adults moving to English-speaking countries (relocation), and students and youth who want to study the language and improve speech, pronunciation, accent (American) and conversation in English. Avivit’s training combines precise tools to help students deal with the language, both in pronunciation and in conversation with the aim of breaking down barriers and increasing confidence in English conversation. Each lesson is adapted to the needs and level of the student with an emphasis on grammar, diction, intonation, and flow.
In addition, as an active singer-songwriter (listen here) in the English language, Avivit began working with singers and performance artists with the goal of helping them improve their confidence and flow during recordings, performances, and auditions.
The lessons with Avivit surprised me in how I was then able to work on my accent with a lot of precision and accuracy, so much that I started to hear my own mistakes and others as well.

FAQ
You’ll be skilled enough and have tools to work with after 2-8 sessions. However, that of course depends on how much you practice in between sessions and your individual pace of learning.
Speaking and having sufficient grammar skills undoubtedly helps but is not a necessity for the process of working on accent and diction in English.
You are better off starting accent and diction training once you know the lyrics, tempo and genre so that you can focus on the song and get the best possible outcome.
Having a basic demo and playback contribute enormously to the entire process.
The training is effective for any singer and performance artist whose native language is Greek, Spanish, Hebrew, Dutch, or French. (Check with your coach if your language is not listed).
If you are about to start working on your album, without prior training on accent and diction in English, I’d suggest starting about 3-4 months ahead of time.
This time frame will establish a perfect platform so that you can allow the tools and awareness to really sink in before you head into the studio. By doing so, you will be able to find your ease and style when recording your album in English.
Yes! After we’ve had sufficient time to work on the songs, but you still feel that you need some guidance and feedback in the studio as you are recording, we can schedule accordingly. For more details on training sessions in the studio, click here.
After each training session, you’ll receive a detailed summary of the things we worked on, and how to implement them.
Accent and diction training for singing in English, is more effective if you feel comfortable with the technical usage of your voice. So, if you are at a relatively advanced stage of vocal training, it is possible to combine it with accent and diction training, assuming of course that your vocal teacher is qualified to do so.
Otherwise, it is more beneficial to separate the two so that you can effectively progress and start to feel comfortable with singing in a language which is not your native language.
Definitely! The training is designed exactly for that. You will receive a tool kit to improve pronunciation, customized exercises focused on your level to conduct a conversation, and instructions on how you can identify sounds in English to pronounce and speak it correctly.
It is usually possible to recognize and feel improvement between 8-10 lessons. In this framework you can learn the basics that will help you recognize sounds to apply them independently, and practice correct pronunciation in conversation.
Of course! The training is focused on helping you with your goals and projects, so that you feel the most confident to speak and communicate in English.

Performing on stage in English: A serious challenge with a serious reward
Performing on stage with a foreign language like English is never easy, especially for singers and actors. They are never really comfortable performing on stage in a foreign language, because they are struggling to make the correct sounds as well as trying to remember the lines.
